A fascinating, search for wanderlust aboard a 147' so-called luxury yacht bound from San Diego to Jamaica. A young couple, Kurt and Madison, purchase an all-inclusive five-week cruise to Jamaica for a mere $500 per person. Expecting a beautiful yacht, the young adventurers are disappointed to discover the 'luxury yacht' is anything but that. Undaunted, they decide to give it a go. From the beginning, things start to go wrong aboard the boat, but they continue the journey. Friendships are made, romances are kindled, problems develop, but the cruise continues. They soon discover that shipboard life can be glorious, intriguing, and romantic, but it is also fraught with drama, discomfort, and even danger. While visiting several ports in Mexico, Central America, and the Panama Canal, the intrepid travelers discover worlds and situations that they could not have imagined, nor expected. When Jeffrey Smythe, a crusty Englishman joins the ship in Acapulco, his interaction with Madison does not sit well with Kurt, and tensions mount. After finally reaching Jamaica, several weeks later than scheduled, the journey does not end. Kurt, Madison, Kurt's brother Larry, and Jeffrey Smythe agree to deliver a 47' steel hulled sailboat from Montego Bay to Florida. It proves to be a life-changing decision.
