Lindsey Martin-Bowen has exposed the heart of every poet in her new book, Inside Virgil’s Garage. The human paradox of living in an orderly outer world while hiding a eclectic and chaotic inner self of every poet. She takes the reader to a safe place to explore the corners of individual collection of memories and delusions. In opening the door of Virgil’s garage, the reader is given the freedom to explore.

Inside Virgil's Garage, LIndsey Martin-Bowen's second book of verse, shows how effective the delicate balance between lyric and narrative can be. She understands the cadence of poetic language, and with this chant, she weaves her spell. Martin-Bowen also understands how layering personal with shared stories creates an amplified work of art. This book is what Pandora's Box could have been, had it contained all the wisdom in the world instead of all the ills.
