When the Assyrian army, terror of the ancient world, threatens her Hebrew village with siege, torture and death, young widow Judith takes action. Inspired by visions from God, as well as her women friends, Judith faces the Assyrian general.

Based on the Apocryphal Book of Judith, but written from the point of view of Judith herself, the novel won a Finalist medal in the International Book Awards, and garnered positive reviews in Publishers Weekly, The Courier-Journal and Times, and elsewhere.
