About Lisa Lehmann (Sheboygan, Wisconsin Author)

Lisa Lehmann

I was inspired to create this book after being lucky enough to photograph a herd of white-tailed deer running in the shallow waters of Lake Michigan. The local photographers featured in the book are people who get out of bed early and leave the house before dawn to catch the special morning light. They brave frigid winter conditions to get a unique scene. Dragging heavy tripods and camera bags, they miss dinner in order to capture the golden hour lighting in the late afternoon. It shows in the photography! I am so proud of this book. My desire is that, say 100 years from now, it will provide a snapshot of life along the lake; that it will illustrate what Wisconsin and Lake Michigan looks like in the early 21st Century. The photographers and I hope that seeing the pictures will bring your memories of the lake to life, and inspire you visit it more often. As a friend put it, "the book blends the beauty of the lake with respect of nature.
