Teddie E. Malangwasira, Ph.D.

Dr. Teddie E. Malangwasira is the President and CEO at Malangwasira Leadership Consulting. He has more than thirteen years of business experience working in the food industry and more than twenty-one years of teaching experience. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where he teaches in the School of Business. He received his B.A. in education (2002) from Lakeland University, Sheboygan, Wisconsin; his Master’s in Organizational Leadership and Quality (2008) from Marian University, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; and his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership with emphasis in Human Resource Development (2016) from Regent University.

Dr. Malangwasira has presented on such topics as: “The Moderating Effects of Strategic Thinking on the Relationship Between Self-directed Learning and Leader Effectiveness in Small Organizations” at the University of Oxford, UK. “Demographic Differences Between a Leader and Followers Tend to Inhibit Leader-Follower Exchange (LMX) Levels and Job Satisfaction” in Las Vegas, Nevada, “The Importance of Human Resource Development” in Copenhagen, Denmark, and “Learning Management System and Food Defense” in Barcelona, Spain, among other places. He has taught in schools in Malawi and the United States, where he currently resides with his wife, Jennifer, and their four daughters: Chimwemwe, Mphatso, Madalitso, and Yamikani. He grew up in the then-dictatorship of Malawi in Africa, where he attended primary school, secondary school, and Teacher’s Training College.

Today, Dr. Malangwasira focuses his research activities in the field of leadership behavior, job satisfaction, quantitative research approaches to human resource development in the workplace, trainingprogram development, self-directed learning, and school leadership behaviors. He is the author of Leadership Is Not About Race, Leading in a Diverse organization, An Empirical Comparative Examination of the Relationship among School Leadership Behaviors and Teacher Commitment to Students in Malawi (2016), a monograph An Empirical Comparative Examination of School Leadership Behavior (2016), and the award-winning, peer-reviewed journal article “Demographic differences between a leader and followers tend to inhibit leader-follower exchange levels and job satisfaction” published in the Journal of Organizational Culture, Communication and Conflict (2013).
