About M. Peggy A. Rew (Reno, Nevada Author)
Peggy Rew is a Sparks, NV-based, life-long animal lover who strives to prepare humans ~ as much as possible ~ about pets. Her passion for ‘all things pets’ goes all the back to childhood believing pets can and will communicate if and when they can trust and love a human…who loves them back. Rew has been a professional pet nanny for 28 years; is a Northern Nevada pet rescue group liaison; Nevada’s only American Red Cross-certified Dog & Cat First Aid & Mouth-to-Snout Instructor; and she and her husband are independent reps for Life’s Abundance: planet-friendly products for pets and people.
As a published wordsmith/poet, Rew felt Dog Bite Prevention Education was needed for anyone who interacts with dogs. Dogs can’t speak up and are usually blamed for an accidental bite that could’ve been avoided if humans understood communication and respected boundaries. Her books can be shipped anywhere including an order to Belgium. She also published a collection of poetry and memoir shorts, Sections of My Grapefruit, that is accessible to anyone who enjoys audacious, poetic rants and raves taking the reader to places they've never been.
Locally, she's been a part-time instructor at Truckee Meadows Community College since 2007 but travels nationally to pet lovers who want to become prepared for her Pet First Aid classes. Her students include thousands of pet parents, dog trainers, doggie daycares, rescue groups, veterinarians/vet techs, 1st Responders, NV State Prison Inmates, ACB Guide Dog Users and Puppy Raisers, Canine Companion Groups, The Shining Stars Foundation, Colorado Mesa University Children’s MASH Program Attendees, and YOU!
